Hospital wards to shut in secret NHS cuts - Telegraph
The sick would be urged to stay at home and email doctors rather than visit surgeries, while procedures such as hip replacements could be scrapped.
The plans have emerged as health chiefs draw up emergency budgets that cast doubt on pledges by Gordon Brown to protect “front line services” in the NHS
The proposals could lead to:
  • 10 per cent of NHS staff being sacked in some areas.
  • The loss of thousands of hospital beds.
  • A reduction in the number of ambulance call-outs.
  • Medical professionals being replaced by less qualified assistants.

The debt caught up to them. All of those countries were hiding enormous debt in off balance sheets that are now seeing the light of day. Pensions are in trouble too.

We have Forum Health locally, the owner of three hospitals who recently filed bankruptcy and discussions involve possible closing all of them.

Northside Medical Center, Trumbull Memorial Hospital and Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital

Have to wonder where this is going to lead with further cuts in medicare and now an incentive for people to drop their insurance to "pay a fine"..

And this is what Obama strives for. What a joke of a president.

What happened to "free-market" and individual choice? What happened to pull yourself up by your own boot straps and personal responsibility? Oh, I see...it's for everyone except Republican's and corporations.

Got it.

If they can't make it, they can't make it.
