The 2-day-old health law is often called "ObamaCare" or "the Democrats' bill." With not a single Republican voting for it, or present at Tuesday's signing ceremony, it's easy to see why.

But that's not to say that GOP leaders in Congress, conservative talkmeisters and ideological groups didn't have a role in shaping the overhaul.
