Oh come on. The congressman was trying to insert a little levity into a very tedious, boring hearing about the environmental impact of relocating a military base from Okinawa to Guam (it'll add 79,000 people to the island, increasing its population by nearly 50%). It was a failed attempt at humor (maybe some sort of Buddhist humor - Rep. Johnson is only the second Buddhist ever elected to the US congress).

Hank Johnson is a very well educated, successful attorney. If he truly believes the island of Guam is in danger of tipping over due to the extra 79,000 Marines, then he's truly lost his marbles and should be institutionalized.

Reportedly the guy has a serious illness. I think it's hepatitis C, which can lead to difficulty speaking and thinking clearly.

The video is fantastically funny. But now I feel bad for laughing if the guy is gravely ill.

Well we will have to check out some other videos to see if this is the norm BUT if he is so gravely ill that it affects his mind he should NOT be in congress making any kind of decisions.

I have to say that I don't like what I see here. The criticism of this man is clearly unfounded and I would have to say racism is involved. Please stop it right now.

I'm glad he was there to cast a yes vote for barry care.

This is a prime example of why I think Congress ought to be subjected to urinalysis like the rest of us.

Thank goodness he's only 1 of 435 members of the House and unable to do much real damage.

Clearly this bimbo is in congress because of Cynthia McKinney.

Maybe he was just rehearsing an SNL skit???

I not sure of that, I think there may be many, on both sides of the aisle, that have significant problems identifying reality.

I am so disappointed that we did not have a liberal here defending this using the same standard they do when it comes to moral issues and the Republican Party.

We can be criticized, held accountable, because along with no moral standard in the Democrat party we obviously have no intellectual standard.
