18 gunmen die in attack on two army bases in Mexico - latimes.com (http://www.latimes.com/news/la-fg-mexico-army1-2010apr01,0,5207133.story - broken link) There have been a few threads here lately about people vacationing in Mexico. It looks like the violence there is escalating,it's only a matter of time before this spills over into the USA.Since Obama is incapable of securing our borders.

What I find ridiculous is when people state the we can't build a border fence. Then why is it that China thousands of years ago could build a "Great Wall" and the US can't now.Anyone thinking of visiting Mexico should really rethink their plans, people always think it won't happen to them, but that's what the last set of victims thought too.

We've been hearing it for a while here in Texas and other border states. Our governors have pleaded with the Fed Gov to help but got "silence". It's getting more dangerous and the cartels have moved beyond the border states further north in the nation.

We tried to warn of this.....these cartels are as dangerous as any foreign Al Quieda terrorist...they do not care if innocent victims get in the way of their shootouts. Over 80% of the Mexican police force have been bribed/bought out. These are powerful drug cartels and the Mexicans are not as sophisticated and polished as the South Americans were in S. Florida.

Well if you want to build a Chinese style Great Wall out of modern concrete and designed to not be tunneled under it can be done. However do you have any idea of what it would cost to build this wall from the Pacific to the Gulf of Mexico? Are you willing to spend 1-2 Trillion dollars and be impressed into service along with several hundred thousand other fellow Americans to do the labor needed to get it built in less than a decade? A little joke chain link fence isn't going to do it folks.

You would be disappointed to find out the great wall failed, and invasions by mongols weren't stopped. Eventually, China was taken over by Ghengis Khan.

The past is doomed to repeat itself.

In 2010 with today's technology it would be greatly different.N. Korea,Iran,Russia and a lot of other Countries don't have a border as easily compromised as th US's.The Us is willing to spend billions on Illegal Aliens and even more in National Security ,which this is part of.http://www.borderinvasionpics.com/Invasion.html How much more of this can the USA afford? It's only a matter of time if not already that we'll have more terrorist attacks on American soil, how much will that cost the US economy?
