Yeah, it's probably best to ignore the tea party protester who had the "Get out of Afganistan" sign. Must be confusing to an Obamatron.

3. Identification of enemies/scapegoats as a unifying cause

The most significant common thread among these regimes was the use of scapegoating as a means to divert the people’s attention from other problems, to shift blame for failures, and to channel frustration in controlled directions. The methods of choice—relentless propaganda and disinformation—were usually effective. Often the regimes would incite “spontaneous” acts against the target scapegoats, usually communists, socialists, liberals, Jews, ethnic and racial minorities, traditional national enemies, members of other religions, secularists, homosexuals, and “terrorists.” Active opponents of these regimes were inevitably labeled as terrorists and dealt with accordingly.

Relentless Propaganda, disinformation.

How many times did the great salesman Obama have to go spew the lies, to sell the healthcare deal?

Spontaneous, target scapegoats... change the biased view, please!
It can go both ways. Redneck, teabagging, fascism, Nazi, KKK, racist, rightwing, bigots, hypocrites, bible thumpers, christians, ethnis and racial minorities, and every name in the book.

Didn't both Nancy Pelosi and Janet Napolitano call the tea partiers, terrorists, and tried to silence them. Wasn't there an attempt to silence Fox news channel?

You tell me. It sounds very Progressive to me.

9. Power of corporations protected

Although the personal life of ordinary citizens was under strict control, the ability of large corporations to operate in relative freedom was not compromised. The ruling elite saw the corporate structure as a way to not only ensure military production (in developed states), but also as an additional means of social control. Members of the economic elite were often pampered by the political elite to ensure a continued mutuality of interests, especially in the repression of “have-not” citizens.

You seriously want to talk about elite... of the top 30 most wealthy members of Congress and the Senate, only 8 are Republican.

Citizens are losing control and are under stricter control than any American ever has. Corporations are still doing business. They are not hurting nearly as much as the middle class that do not own a corporation.

10. Power of labor suppressed or eliminated

Since organized labor was seen as the one power center that could challenge the political hegemony of the ruling elite and its corporate allies, it was inevitably crushed or made powerless. The poor formed an underclass, viewed with suspicion or outright contempt. Under some regimes, being poor was considered akin to a vice.""""""

Lets see who and what has crushed the Unions... Are unions as big as they once were? Notice how there are a lot of green cards given to, now union members? Do you know why they have let foreign 3rd world workers into the American unions? Crushed from within... The Progressive plan

Penetrate, divide and crush from within.

The best part of the whole day, several things actually.

One, only 5000 people showed up, half than the 10,000 expected. Of course Boston is a city (metro) of 5 million people, you'd think they could scrounge up a few more desperates to the see Saint Sarah.

Two, not a single real Republican from Massachusetts bothered to show up. Not even downtown Scotty Brown, who I guess was "busy" doing my work down in Washington. Not even one of the three Reps. running for Governor. Not even effing Mitt Romney.

I wonder if Sarah bothered to walk to the other side of the Common (over to Park Street) to view the graves of Paul Revere or Sam Adams. I doubt it.

Oh the Tea Party Express is a farce, btw. Hate to burst all your bubbles, yeah its a GOP Politcal Action Committee. Who has egg on their face now?

He was pretty well drowning out the voice of the little lady doing her "thing" whatever it was. I just couldn't hear her even though she had help.

Let the SEIU come down to a Texas Tea party. They'll have their A$$es handed to 'em.

Guaranteed.

I think we're all pretty much laughing at the overweight old guys wearing camouflage, waving their big guns around and the bellicose crazy guys who chant "I Love Sarah", like the one in the video. When are you tea people going to realize that you're really not that physically intimidating?

I'll give you an A for the theatrics though
