U.S. Federal District Court judge has ruled that the University of Wyoming must allow William Ayers to speak on campus. Previously UoW had withdrawn its invitation to
Ayers to speak here after receiving numerous threatening emails and statements that major contributors to the Univ. would stop supporting it if they allowed Ayers to speak.

So will the students and faculty follow the examples of other universities and charge the stage, knock over the podium, and shout down the speaker? Oh I forot, university students only do that for conservative speakers. They don't do that for anti-American speakers like the president of Iran.

Maybe they'll just boycott, like some Notre Dame students did last year when Obama spoke.

It will be interesting to see what happens. I doubt most of the students care or the rest of the country care what Ayers has to say. But the fears and resistance of the University and mostly its supporters has turned this into a front page issue.

If they had simply let him speak, which seems appropriate for a state that brands itself the "Freedom State", his engagement would have probably passed with little notice. But by opposing and banning him, those anti-Ayers people have given him a podium which will have National, if not Inter-National, attention.

That's still more respectful and polite than storming a stage, knocking over a podium, and shouting down the speaker to the point the campus police ask you to leave for your own safety.

That is one main difference between progressives and conservatives. I will fight to my death for his right to speak.

Progressives will make it impossible for someone to express their 1st amendment rights.

But we as conservatives are seen as rabble rousers!

As long as the campus takes FEDERAL money, this garbage can happen. That means any insitution taking one penny of FEDERAL cash, including student loans. A FEDERAL JUDGE can then force this.

Why do you think the FEDERAL GOVT. wanted to take over all the college loans? yet another way to stop the First Amendment rights on campus.
