A man has been detained in connection with the failed Times Square car bombing in New York, the FBI said early on Tuesday.
Richard Kolko, an FBI spokesman, said, "A person has been detained in the investigation."
A law enforcement source said the suspect was arrested trying to leave the country.
The New York Times reported the Connecticut man is a naturalized U.S. citizen from Pakistan. The Times report cited two people briefed on the investigation.

Great news. I hope they have the right guy, can nab all his US accomplices, and capture or bomb the crap out of out-of-country accomplices without collateral damage.

"Pakistani in custody in NY car bomb attack"

" A Pakistani man believed to be the driver of an SUV used as a car bomb in a failed terror attack on Times Square was taken into custody early Tuesday by federal and local police officials while trying to leave the country, a law enforcement official said.

The suspect, Faisal Shahzad, was identified by customs agents at John F. Kennedy International Airport and was stopped...."

Hats off to our law enforcement professionals.

Not too bright - can't make a bomb, can't detonate a bomb, bought wrong fertilizer, can't cover his tracks, - and then tried to fly out of JFK in NYC instead of lying low or travelling via another city.

Thank God for that. I hope if there is another one out there he is just as stupid as this one.

I'd like to thank the Mod for posting this, as I generally get my important info here on CD.
As for the Pakistani, will here be tried in civilian or military court. I hope we can make him regret the day he was born. If this were in Pakistan, you can bet we'd be hearing his screams for forgiveness all the way to Wyoming.

Holder and Janet N. need to resign. Obama opened the flood gates to Muslim immigration...We have no idea how many muslim terrorists are in the country. An alert citizen prevented this attack from happening...not the Obama administration. Obama is soft on terror. We are in danger with this administration.
