Has George Alan Rekers ever pushed anti gay stuff, or just those he associates with? There are indeed churches that openly accept gays now..

He is Baptist minister who indeed pushed tons of anti-gay stuff. Read the article.

OK, I'm a Christian, and that choice is personal, just as non-believing is. So let's do each other a favor and not bash each other's beliefs, or non-beliefs.

Unless you know the Lord you cannot distinguish between the two.

As for a book of Fairy Tales, I will leave that to you and God --- on judgment day.
I know you will be immediately jumped on by the band of "I hate Christians" on the board so I wanted to publically give you my support. Strangely you will find that those who scream that Christians are intolerant and hateful are the most intolerant and hateful people toward Christians that you can imagine. I've just come to a point of pity that they do not know the peace and joy that we have, say a prayer for them, and move on.

Then the poster needs to keep her beliefs to herself and not talk to me about her god thing and my afterlife.

Fair is fair.

Don't need or want your pity.
I just want you to keep your beliefs personal and out of my life.
Sorry if that's just too much to ask.

We know and try to enjoy peace without your religious brouhaha being pushed on us every day and every way you can possibly imagine.
In fact, I'd be much happier if you'd keep your religious beliefs personal and private.

I never jump in until the christers come at me.

"For decades, George Alan Rekers has been a general in the culture wars, though his work has often been behind the scenes. In 1983, he and James Dobson, America's best-known homophobe, formed the Family Research Council, a D.C.-based, rabidly Christian, and vehemently anti-gay lobbying group that has become a standard-bearer of the nation's extreme right wing. Its annual Values Summit is considered a litmus test for Republican presidential hopefuls, and Sean Hannity and Ann Coulter have spoken there. (The Family Research Council would not comment about Rekers's Euro-trip.)"

There's no proof anywhere that one exists.

Several of us like to mock you when you go against your "holy" book and public words.
It's a lot of fun pointing out the hypocrisy.

Why do you think you have the ability to decide who is a "true" xian?
Are you all-knowing?
How about people judging you?

Always funny stuff when you see it, anyone who screams that much about something is trying to distract people from something...it never fails. Even better are people who followed him using the "No True Scotsman" defense instead of acknowledging that they were wrong in blindly following a person because they professed being of the same religion and hated the same groups.

It's just amazing how many untrue Christians seem to get into the leadership of the religious right.

IMHO, it's never a good idea to have fundamentalists lead the charge and run the PR campaigns for a persons beliefs.
