TOLEDO, Ohio —
Samuel "Joe" Wurzelbacher, who was hailed by Republican John McCain's presidential campaign in 2008, has won one of nearly 400 seats on the local Republican Party committee in Ohio's Lucas County.

The group elects the county chairman and sets the party agenda. Wurzelbacher won the seat by a 38-24 vote Tuesday in his suburban Toledo precinct.

Hey, if Cindy Sheehan can take a stab it in CA I guess Joe can too in OH.

Other than that, the Ohioans can sort all of that out.

I live in NJ and we have more than enough issues with our politicians.

I guess he decided to start at the bottom (not including his shilling and lying in the '08 campaign). According to C-D Lucas county has 400K population and went for Kerry by 60% and Obama by 52%. The local R party committee is 400 people. Sounds like if you show up you get in.

The good thing is he will have no power whatsoever. He is one of 400 GOP chair members in a staunchly Democratic County that Obama, Sherrod Brown and Ted Strickland all won by over 30 points.
