Conservatives had an awesome showing, winning far more seats than Labour. The people have had enough of their tax and massive spending policies.

UK exit polls: Tories win most seats, not majority - Yahoo! LONDON – David Cameron's rejuvenated Conservatives captured far more seats than Prime Minister Gordon Brown's battered Labour Party but failed to win an absolute majority Thursday in Britain's national election, according to television projections.

The projections showed the Labor Party with its smallest number of seats since 1987. The Conservatives appeared to gain 95 seats, all but one at the expense of Labour.

Turnout appeared to be high and hundreds of people across the country were turned away and prevented from voting when polls closed at 10 p.m.

Just wish Americans had the same low level of tolerance for tax-and-spend policies.

We do love our low tax and spending policies. I just hope we never forget to send out thank you cards to Japan and China regularly.

Well let's hope the conservatives voted into power do the job of cutting back and not be afraid to take the heat for it.

You cannot spend your way into prosperity. Just ask Greece how that worked out for them.

I predict this November will show that we are going to change the seating in Congress. Unless something comes up and voting is cancelled. They tryed to pass a 2 different bills in Wis. that would of turned our voting process into a democrate dream but both are out for now. Lets hope ppl across the nation when their state tried pushing it, were able to get it defeated.

Oh, god, Sanrene. The Tories would have you screaming "The Bloodie Bolscheviks". This was more about an absolute hatred of Gordan Brown than anything else. New Labor's slave doggish loyalty to Bush won it no friends. But if the Liberal Democrats join with Labor, guess what??

Guess what? They still don't have a majority.

Whenever liberal policies are smacked down by voters, whether in the UK or Mass, there is ALWAYS an excuse from the Left to mitigate the result.

They hated Brown and Labor BECAUSE THEIR POLICIES have bankrupted the country.

What on earth are you talking about. You know absolutely nothing about British politics as is evident from your posts in this thread. Neither do you have any understanding as to how the First Past the Post system distorts results.

As things stand, Labour and Liberal, both left of centre parties have almost 50% of the vote while the Conservatives have 36%. Hardly a smackdown.

I strongly suggest you stick to the very few things you know about and avoid parading your ignorance on the many things you do not know about.

Do you realize that conservatives in the UK are quite different than conservatives here?

For example, in the UK conservatives support gay rights and civil partnerships, oppose capital punishment, and support the Kyoto Treaty.
