Racism does not motivate most tea party activists, it isn't even something they think about, race is much more top of mind for liberals.
If there were two candidates, a white male who was a moderate Republican who favored using tax payer dollars to bail out banks and industry and a minority candidate who was against bail outs and stood for less government I have no doubt that the tea partiers would vote for the minority over the white man. Issues mean everything.

You all put illegals before American citizens. You all dont mind giving our tax dollars to other countries long as its a cause you all agree with. If its not then you scream " we need to be taking care of Americans first before we nation build in another country".
So really enough.
Liberals dont care about the national debt of this country. They dont care about spending long as its on the things they support which is entitlements creating dependents on the gov for votes. You all dont actually care about the actual person or you wouldnt want them dependent on the gov for handouts.

Depends entirely on one's point of view. .. . from my perspective as a dedicated liberal, I love it! They are killing themselves with independents who will never subscribe to such ridiculous and absurd views, and taking the entire conservative party with them.
In a way it's a shame, because we really do need a balance between social liberalism and conservative fiscal policies. . . .but in our ever increasing partisan disdain, that is probably a pipe dream.

Tea party here supports a black man over a white man. They can stop with the tea party members are racist.
Tea party members support many black candidates. Its not about race its about issues and some just cant accept that America is not as progressive as they hoped. They cant accept that a growing number of Americans are not happy with the direction of this country and instead of sitting on their butt complaining about it. They are willing to get up and do something about it.
I havent seen any "shift" you proclaimed is taking place... I'm interested in hearing your examples.. (tea party, isnt an example of the GOP moving)..
I do see a shift and I think it's a WONDERFUL thing! The most recent example is Bennett getting kicked off the ballot at the Utah GOP convention this weekend, He came in third out of three candidates...this is what he deserves because he is not a real conservative. He voted for TARP for example.
