Arizona's 1070 has emboldened them...they're all coming out of the woodwork now...

Wow, I knew that a lot of people held those types of sentiments, but usually they only actually say it on the internet and at their rallies. It bothers me that it is becoming socially acceptable again to say racist things like this. It feels like we're moving backwards as a society.
Frankly, there are ways to approach the same pedagogical point of view, if one must, without being crassly racist and abusive. From what I am reading the suspension was more than appropriate. Perhaps a little counseling might be in order as well.
Well, everything she said is true but she should not have used a student in eh class as an example. Its always best to stick to the facts when you are trying to make a point. Appeals to emotion only work on the weak-minded (Like Jedi mind tricks )

Illegals only do jobs that Americans are to lazy to do.
or the ever popular
Who will clean your houses or cut your grass if we deport the illegals.
Yes there are racists on both sides not to mention utter idiots.
That Teacher was an idiot. Her job is to teach not push her personal views no matter how justified she may have felt.

Ok hold on here. Why is it because you are against illegals are you automatically a racist? Where is the outrage when liberal teachers spew their crap at our kids? Was she right in singling out the kid? No, but she is entitled to her opinion.
It is very easy for people to pass judgment when you don't deal with illegals on a daily bases.
Strange how everyone has already decided that this teacher has done this thing based on the comments of two students. While it might be true that the teacher did indeed do these things, has anyone stopped to consider that maybe these students had a grudge and figured out a way to take that grudge out on the teacher using the Arizona law as a way to strengthen their case?
