in the voter intimidation civil rights case from 2008? Now we have DOJ attorney resigning over the fact they have been told to ignore a subpoena.

DOJ Voting Rights attorney resigns over Black Panthers stonewalling | Washington Examiner (http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/blogs/beltway-confidential/doj-voting-rights-attorney-resigns-over-black-panthers-stonewalling-94202249.html - broken link)

Quote:
A trial attorney with the Department of Justice’s Voting Rights Section has resigned, citing concerns about the government’s refusal to prosecute a case involving voter intimidation by the New Black Panther Party.

A letter of resignation obtained by The Washington Examiner from a former Justice Department employee makes clear DOJ has refused to allow attorneys in the Voting Rights Section to testify before the congressionally-chartered bipartisan U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, despite subpoenas that could result in their being held in contempt.
The DOJ attorneys have been ORDERED not to comply with subpeonas from the US Commission on Civil Rights.

Now, remember this case - the DOJ had these guys dead to rights, could of had default judgments against them, but refused to press forward with the case. Strange too that the NBPP members that were charged basically ignored the suit - maybe they were told not to worry about it?

Sources told The Bulletin that there is internal dissension in the Department of Justice (DOJ) about a voter intimidation case from last year’s presidential election. Obama appointees did not want to proceed with the case, while the career prosecutors did. The incident occurred in Philadelphia and involved the New Black Panther Party for Self-Defense (NBPPSD).

“It is absolutely unprecedented for the Justice Department to dismiss a lawsuit after the defendants failed to answer the suit and are thus in default," he said.
Why is DOJ stonewalling and sweeping this case under the rug?

Why is obama/holder beholden to the NBPP?

Good question. Something definitely isnt right about the whole thing.

Allthough i'll say it seems like its coming more from Holder, not Obama. I'll give Obama the benefit of doubt on this one for now.

Where have you been, you silly conservative? Justice has been done.

Didn't you know that Mr. Samir Shabazz (the Black Panther guy) can't take a club to a polling place until 2012?

Now that's comforting!

"....The department did obtain an injunction against Mr. Samir Shabazz prohibiting him from brandishing a weapon outside a polling place until 2012."....

You just can't make this stuff up.

How comforting to know that polling places are protected from Samir Shabazz for another 18 months.

We all know why this was dropped.

If this had been two white men in fake military outfits carrying nightsticks you would have seen this become another Duke case real quick.

This is the Saul Alinsky taught tactic of the Obama administration.

Find ways to intimidate, scare or stop people who are voting against your choice like these criminal thugs were trying to do.

Good thing they did not try to stop my husband when he went to vote, he would not have went by without confronting the thugs and they would have gotten the stick shoved up their behinds. The big guy would have taken care of this issue in seconds just for the exercise.

We had better wake up because these two thugs got away with this and we all know it is not right.

Guess if this happens again we will have to become protectors of our rights and arrest these types of idiots by citizens arrest and force something to happen.

These two idiots were lucky no one stood up to them. I am sure they could not have handled any confrontation from someone who would clean the ground up with them easily.

This should not be allowed in America and if this admin is putting out the word that this is ok then we need to force the admin into making a decision after someone takes them up on their threats of bodily harm.

Afterall carrying a nightstick is a threat to do bodily harm and we are allowed to protect ourselves in self defense!

Willing to bet both have criminal records and live on welfare anyway so they probably were paid to stand there and look like fools.

We need to start holding Obama accountable for his daily mistakes.

Holder needs to be removed as he has proven that he cannot make a good decision on any issue. Of course he is just following the same pattern as this lousy admin.

And many others places as well.

The skinny frail punks with sticks would have been just a quick one minute of exercise for the hubby.
