I don't consider it a sad occurrence. It isn't something that "happened" to them, like being struck by lightening or being run over by a train. It is a conscious choice that they have made after a lot of deliberation. The only time a marriage dies is if both parties let it. What is sad is that they are role models and public figures and their lack of desire to work through their issues and remain a couple is very disappointing. I thought they were both better than that.

I don't ever recall them putting themselves out there as marital role models. I've never heard anyone in a struggling marriage say "We're going to keep working on it....that's what Al and Tipper would do and they're our role models."
Public figures, yes. Role models, no. Heck, Al isn't even a role model for environmental causes that he claims to be so passionate about....he's a worse example of personal accountability than most...flying around on private jets, living in energy hogging mansions...who the heck picks a hypocrite for a role model?
That's what you get for putting people on a pedestal....disappointment. Me, I don't really care.
Tipper Gore will most likely write a book called "LIVING WITH AN IDIOT".
Or
Living with a Liar
Chapter 1
Tipper recalls the first Lie Al ever told her. He said he knew how to satisfy a woman.
The second lie. Al said he never cheats on his diet.
Trust me on this, Gore went nut's after the 2000 election and thats not speculation either. If anyone on this forum knows someone that worked in Washington before the 2000 election and after they will know what I'm talking about.
