Americans' support for the moral acceptability of gay and lesbian relations crossed the symbolic 50% threshold in 2010. At the same time, the percentage calling these relations "morally wrong" dropped to 43%, the lowest in Gallup's decade-long trend.
I am not interested in having morality (or lack thereof) dictated to me by anyone.
Yeah, that's really the best answer (or "it's not a moral issue"). I would have added that as an option, but it would have thrown off the balance of the poll.
not morally wrong, but the in your face sexuality is a big turn off for most. please get a room.
Absolutely agreed! A peck on the cheek or holding hands is one thing, but when I see a couple going at it in public, gay or straight, I'm pretty grossed out. Have some self-respect, you know?
If you notice, Gallup changed the wording from homosexual relations and homosexuality to gay/lesbian, which probably explains the increase, since "homosexual" has more of a negative connotation to it rather than gay/lesbian.
