I'm looking to find a good car insurance company before I move to Vero Beach. Any suggestions? The company I have now is not there.

Default prices

I heard the prices are sky high to register your car with Florida plates and that insurance is more expensive too. Is this correct?

Depends on where you come from and which county you register your car in. Insurance goes higher the further south you go in to other counties.

I believe the first time you register your vehicle here the fees are higher, but please use this DMV site as a guide.

I use Met Life for car insurance and I think they give me a great price for the coverage. Foundation Insurance in Palm Beach is the broker.

I moved here to PSL in late Sept from the Buffalo NY area ... I found that Progressive was pretty reasonable rates, actually about the same as what I paid in NY State....

I moved here from New York in July and used Statefarm there. I continued my coverage with Statefarm, doubled the coverage and pay 25% less than New York. Found a great Statefarm broker in St. Lucie West and am very pleased. Shop around.

ate Farm pulled out of Florida big time .. especially after the last hurricanes. That was the reason for saying not to start off using them. I also have my car with them, but I've had it with them for ions and they cant cancel me unless I dont pay my premiums. Otherwise, I would no longer be with them.

I don't believe they are issuing any policies for houses of any kind unless it's a high premium. I would be looking for another company and comparing rates with them all that are A rated.
