My husband and I plan to sell our home in Maine next summer and would like to live where there is no snow. I have been looking at Sebastian and wonder if it is possible to find a condo for around $100,000 that is within easy driving distance to the beach . We will be retired and we like quiet. We have been to Cocoa Beach and Merritt Island and Stuart and Jupiter but none of these felt right. We actually live in a tourist area of southern coastal Maine and it is crazy busy here in the all too brief Maine summer but extremely quiet in the winter , which we like , but we don't like the winter. haha So basically I would like to have a year around beach lifestyle, but not a crazy wild overpopulated one. Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thank you .

I think you'd be very happy with Sebastian. It's laid back and quiet, has everything you need, and not too far from anything. I'm sure you'll have luck finding a place to live that fits your budget. There's a good mixture of families and retirees. There's good fishing and great beaches just across the Wabasso bridge. If you're heavy into the beach lifestyle, you may even be able to find a 1 bd. on the barrier island for your price. The island is gorgeous. If I wasn't such an avid gardener, I would have bought a condo on the island.

Welcome to the forum, B/Lee ! You will find lots of good information here. Be sure to look at the older posts when you get a chance. As for condo-hunting, try the online realty sites such as zillow.com, trulia.com, and Realtor.com. You can do specific searches on each.
Like you, we are tired of winter weather and are headed south, to Vero Beach. In fact we are flying to Florida tomorrow for the big house hunt !
