Neighborhood questions. (crime, house, established neighborhood)

We have recently looked at a house (remotely, via FaceTime) in the area between Airoso and the river, and just south of the big straight canal that feeds into the river.

It seems like a nice, older, well-kept, established neighborhood. However, when we look at neighborhood scout, the crime index is 56, with 100 being best. Most of the neighborhoods we've looked at are in the upper 60s/lower 70s.

I did notice that Neighborhood Scout's map has this neighborhood's southern border encompassing Sportsman's Park, and wondered if that has brought the score down, while the rest of the neighborhood might be fine? I know there was a shooting death at the park a few years ago, and would imagine that, like any big city park where large groups of people convene, there are a certain level of crime there.

So is there reason to be concerned about the neighborhood where the house is? FWIW, it is just over a mile north of the park.
