We are a few miles from Indian River Lagoon. The Savannas are between us.

Can you just choose to stay if they announce a mandatory evacuation? I'm not leaving. They haven't announced anything yet... only got this email from the HOA.. part of it

At this time, track projections and probability impact models continue to vary but it is highly likely that the Treasure Coast will experience significant effects.* Hurricane Irma remains a very powerful, large, and dangerous Category 5 hurricane.*

If your Unit has storm shutters, NOW is the time to close them.* Weather conditions are predicted to deteriorate beginning late Friday.* Tropical storm conditions are expected as early as Saturday afternoon with the hurricane passing through the Treasure Coast on Sunday.

Thank you for the videos. In the rental we had bolts that the shutters Ali onto the pulled down to lock them in. Screw it in and done.

This new build has the wing nuts and I learned some from the video.

Much appreciated.

They are pretty booked up now. Our pool guy was here this morning and he also helps put up shutters. He has 12 more houses to do and still needs to do his own!

Obviously you're not a homeowner and don't know how difficult that is.

And wasn't it you who said that shutters are a waste of time a couple of months ago?

I own two condos in FL. One on the Gulf coast that I rent out ( no hurricane shutters there )... and one here that's a permanent residence ( had hurricane shutters when I bought it )

It isn't difficult. It took me about 10 minutes to close all my windows.. It's about as simple as closing a sliding door and this is the first time I've ever done it in my life. If the place I bought didn't have any.. I wouldn't care or have any installed but since they are there I'm obviously going to use them. There's many units here that have none.

It's so simple to do that even he could probably do it
