It's still a bargain. We left Ft Lauderdale in 2000 and stopped here because it was the cheapest waterfront property in Florida. We're now selling and it's still the cheapest waterfront property in Florida. Imagine, a 3/4/1 CBS home with a barrel tile roof, 2041 sq ft under air, Dade County approved windows and sliders, two masters, a pool that was just refinished on an ocean access canal with a 36 foot dock, 10,000 pound boat lift. It's on the market for $298,500. In Ft Lauderdale it would over $600K. You can't beat PSL for waterfront.

Looking for retire at a nice area in Florida. Researching and inclined to Cape Coral, before I started looking at PSL. Any recomendations? Coming from NJ it's going to be a big and pleasant change in terms of house prices, weather etc.

We purchased a home in PSL, and paid $208,000. Our home in Tennessee sold in 1.5 days and sold for $6,000 over asking with a bidding war. Homes here in the 200s are rare as hens teeth right now. We got more for our money here than there so I would not say homes there are cheap unless you want garbage!
