Okay, this may be a long shot, but then again, maybe not. I have a very complicated prescription with extreme nearsightedness among lots of other vision problems, and severe trauma issues surrounding eye doctors. It took me so many years to finally find and get halfway comfortable with my old ophthalmologist in Nashville, and then I had to move. I literally have panic attacks and uncontrollable crying when I even think about finding a new one and having to go through all of that again without any guidance at all. I do not know where to start.

If anyone knows of a compassionate and understanding ophthalmologist who would be willing to work with a new patient who has severe issues (my therapist had to come to the first few appointments with the last one), please, please offer some recommendations. This must be an ophthalmologist (board certified MD), not an optometrist/optician. Thanks in advance for your help.

Nah, not a long shot. Good timing, though. I'm not on city-data very often. Might be tough to get- Docs in Portland are pretty booked up.

@ Providence-St Vincent Hosp near Beaverton. I've personally observed Dr. Fellman's work many years ago over a surgical microscope. All smooth sailing. (I was in a medical program for advanced high school nerds.) Eye socket flushes are always annoying whereever you go, I figure. Older guy, very experienced, so I'm sure he's seen it all. Contact Providence or visit their website to see their full list of talent too. Good luck!

The guy I would have recommended is now retired, Robert Laird.

I can recommend the Eye Group, in the 200 Market St. building, near Keller Auditorium.

Is Dr. Fellman affiliated with Oregon Eye Associates? I notice the address and suite number at Providence is the same. The doc I used to see at that location is now retired. Timothy Denman, my doctor, is a member of that group. I now visit the Aloha office. All the testing is done at Casey. Dr. Denman operated on my eye with satisfactory results.
