Anyone have any experience with or heard anything about Beaverton's Springville Elementary School?

What did you want to know about it? In general, Beaverton has a top-drawer school district. This elementary school feeds into Stoller middle school and Westview high school, both great schools. I have a granddaughter who goes to Stoller, although she did not attend Springville. Next year, she will go to Sunset, not Westview. It is my understanding that in the Beaverton school district, students may attend any of the high schools if there is room for them and that school offers a specific class the student wants to take. Maybe I'm incorrect, and I do live in a different school district, but I think I'm right about that.

Thanks for the information, Skippy. Basically I'm trying to find impressions about the quality of the school, what its culture is like and likes/dislikes about how the school is operated.

We are relocating to the area from the UK in September and did a preparation visit in spring. Springville was one of the schools we chose to visit and although we were only there for a short time we were very impressed with what we saw and with the Principal. Dr Ames was happy to show us round and explain the school's ethos - they run on a programme called expeditionary learning which is a lot of project based work which relies on the student to use their initiative to find the information required. It is a K-8 school, K-5 is set on catchment and 6-8 is by application. We have twin eight year old daughters and are trying to find a rental property in the catchment so that they can attend from September.
