How many PNW towns have a boulevard like Naito Blvd named after a prominent Japanese citizen? I also went to school with Japanese, who happened to fit the Asian stereotype of being brainiacs. Never got the slightest hint of any attitude toward them because of race. If any attitude is present, it happened after I left.

Here are a couple of recent articles in a local newspaper regarding Asians in Portland. If the OP would like to google The Portland Tribune he will find a couple more about race in general. Keep in mind of course that any newspaper article is going to reflect the research and opinions of those writing it and so may not be the entire picture of any one community.

None that I can think of, although if there was it'd be Hood River or The Dalles. Possibly across the river in White Salmon.
