I'll be staying at the Heathland hotel downtown and was wondering how hard it would be to
find a place to park. Can I assume I'd be able to find a place to park at the SmartPark
garages nearby?

Thanks!

Joe

It will be hard to find a place to park in downtown. Yes, there are a few Smart Parks around that hotel. How long do you need to park?

I'll be there 5/26-5/29. 5/26 is a Sunday and the 5/27 is Memorial Day. I was hoping at least those
2 days would be easier due to the holidays.

Thanks!

If you have a handicap sticker park on the street. No time limit and no charge. Not 100% sure about over night.

Safer in the Parking Garages. Expect to pay for the safety though.

Do you mean Heathman Hotel?
I'd call them first - they may know best. Otherwise, you will need to look around and improvise. Actually, if you flew to PDX and just rented the car when you need it, it would solve some of your problems.

I'm pretty sure the hotel has valet parking. You'd want to check out the pricing and operating hours.

Valet parking is going to be the easiest option, over at the Heathman there is a limit with parking garages and street parking can be an issue because you technically have to move your car off the block every time it expires....though you can feed the meter, but then you would be running down ever 90 minutes to put more money in the meter and worrying about it.

Now the best idea would be if you are there during a holiday, the actual day of the holiday street parking is free, and Sunday street parking is metered between 12noon-7p. You can valet your car the other days and let them know that you won't be valeting it during the holidays to save a little bit of money.

There is a Smart Park on 10th at Morrison and one across from the Federal Building (which I think is still under re-construction) on Jefferson at 1st - your hotel is midway. I understand you can park overnight at most of their garages but call 503-790-9300 to verify. Here are their published rates which are confusing IMHO. http://www.portlandoregon.gov/transp...article/254736

I wouldn't try to park on the street. Our parking enforcement folks are relentless. The best overnight parking garage is located on Station Way (near the Amtrak Station) accessible from NW Marshall or by driving north from the RR station, under the Broadway Bridge continuing north for a couple hundred feet. The NS streetcar stops 3 long blocks from that garage, the EW streetcar 2 blocks.

Thanks for all the replies! Yes, it's the Heathman. I'll call them and find out what the rates are!

Downtown Portland has parking??? Hehe just joking. When I park there I just move my car around from parking lot to parking lot every hr or 2, which for your situation a parking garage would be more convenient.
