We are in our mid 30's and relocating from Connecticut to Portland with our dog. Just wondering if anyone has any input on the Burlington Towers Apartments since there are no reviews online posted just one from Yelp. Just wanted to know why these apartments are relatively cheaper that others in that area. Were considering the Enso Apartments as well. If anyone has any input of some apartments in The Pearl that would be great! Our budget is $1700 for a 1 bedroom/1 bath but would like to get something around $1500 or best bang for our buck. Thanks!

The Pearl District in general is really nice and many of the buildings are owned and managed by the same people, though I am not familiar with either of those two buildings.

I have not known anyone who has lived in either building.

Architecturally I like the Burlington as the Enso strikes me as twice cute. However, the Enso is only a block away from Safeway (grocery store) and is closer to the Soon-to-open Pearl District park will be city’s first built exclusively for dogs | OregonLive.com. The Burlington is on Lovejoy Street, an arterial.

Enso is right up against the freeway and from what I hear has a reputation for raising the rents a lot higher after your lease expires.

New dog park is small but functional.

I'm not sure about the Burlington but I'd pick it over the Enso based on location.

BTW, the Burlington is located right next to Pearl Court, which is the only true "low income" building in the Pearl (they take section 8). Don't let that freak you out because it's still the Pearl but I'm sure that's part of why the rents are lower. So you have the Enso in the north Pearl (lots of construction going on) and next to the Freeway, or the Burlington across from Jamison (good thing) and in the middle of everything (and no construction) but next to a low income building. There are other "low income" buildings in the Pearl but they are set rate apartments for 60%-80% of the median income (when you sign the lease, later it doesn't matter) where as Pearl Court has lots of studios and takes section 8, etc. For the most part you won't notice it.
