We're planning to return to Canada, and I need a new passport photo. Canadian rules require that it be taken by a commercial photographer in a studio, not in a retail store or by an amateur photographer. Canadian passport photos use very different specs and requirements than US passports, so I need to find a photographer with some experience in that area. Thanks for any suggestions!

Seems like the requirements are nearly the same except for the size of the actual photo. I would think that any place that does passport photos can accommodate you. Just call and ask them. FedEx/Kinkos comes to mind.

Welcome to Action Fast Photo!

They have all the specs for passport and visa photos for several countries including Canada.

It seems the OP just wants to get some "Professional" Photos. I called Kinko and they do Canadian Passport Photos all the time. They are not aware of any being rejected. I just checked Costco. Same answer.

This thread is more spam and vanity than a need for information.
