What part of USA has not grown in 30-40 yrs? Not really much of a valid statement.

Oregon has some very nice qualities,( weather, environment, scenery). These will continue to draw some folks.

For those that wish to lead productive, financially successful lives; there are better alternatives and many will now take that road.

This will be exacerbated as the state/local tax burden will continue to go up due to: COVID 19 loss, waste, inefficiency, weak Portland gov't and over the top Progressive insanity which demeans and devalues work and the individual in favor of the "state."

A much tougher world combined with failure of one party rule for too many decades will effect Oregon's desirability and competitiveness.

Would you invest inside Portland to run a business?

I imagine insurance premiums will skyrocket as well. And if there's no willingness by the local governments to enforce the law it's likely many carriers will choose to quit writing policies in these riot-prone cities.

My point is Portland grew despite that rhetoric, and I suspect will gross given the right overall economic conditions in the country.

Without a federal bailout, which cities and states are you seeing that are doing fine budget wise that won’t be impacted by covid? Your hatred of Portland seems to be overriding fundamentals.

St. Louis? Detroit? Hell most of rural areas of Oregon haven't grown in the last 40 years, fortunately.

Another article detailing the hit to downtown.

I'm glad the local media is at least starting to tell that side of the story. Should have happened a lot sooner, but if there's anything to further increase the pressure on the city for action then that is a positive. Money talks and it's going to take a lot more of this kind of scrutiny before Braindead Ted gets the courage to actually disavow the radicals on his side of the aisle.

lol, only if you are brainwashed to watch only conservative news I guess. The business story has been told many times.
