no. Heavier women feel the baby just as well as a slim one.

These things will happen more often than we can imagine. I have an acquaintance who is a midwife, and she had to deliver or help deliver babies at the ER, right after telling the woman she was pregnant!

And it happened to one of my friends, too. She was 40, had 2 teens at home, and no plans for another child. Her gynecologist had even told her she was getting pre-menauposal, so when her period became less regular she did not worry. She didn't have any pregnancy symptom, didn't put on weight... One day, she had weird stomach cramps, so she went to the doctor's and since he couldn't find anything wrong with her, he ended up requesting a sonogram... When she got there, the sonographer quickly ended up seeing a 5 month-old fetus... there was the reason for her cramps!
She was lucky enough to learn the news at that point, so she could prepare for the birth and enjoy the rest of that pregnancy...

A good friend of mine got pregnant in her late 20s and had no idea until just after her 8th month. She could still wear a bikini and still had a flat stomach. She had her periods right on time and both she and her husband were trying to have a baby and were always so disappointed when her periods came. She called me crying more than once.

Apparently, her baby was 'lazy' like I was in utero... my Mom was also disappointed because she never felt me move or kick and believe me, it was VERY obvious she was pregnant

So yeah, I believe it can happen since I've seen it first hand. Some women's bodies are just a little odd.

I also think women carry their babies differently.

There was photos of women ( I think all were 4 months pregnant ) Some women had the small bulge and some had very flat tummys...
