Pregnancy with IUD (years, test, chances, period)

i have had the iud over 10 years now....i know i shouldve had it removed by now....... I have missed my period for the first time.

I think that I might be pregnant....anyone ever concieved with the iud and if so...what did you do?

first take a pregnancy test. If it is positive, go to the doc for an ultrasound. It could be ectopic and that could kill you.

I agree with rkb - if the HPT is positive you need to get in right away to make sure it is not ectopic (IUD increases the chances of that).

I know someone who have had to have the IUD removed at the time of the c-section.

I am sure individual experience varies and will have to be something you and the dr discuss and monitor if the IUD remains in place during the pregnancy.
