By her own admission, Lori Horsley was always what you'd call a late bloomer. But 18 months ago, she took that concept to a whole new level when, at the age of 50, she gave birth to her second daughter, Isabella. After waiting until she was 43 to have her first daughter, Lumi, she definitely topped herself.

I caught part of "I'm Pregnant and" over the weekend about a 55 year old pregnant woman. Seems rather irresponsible to me. I know anyone could die at any age, but chances are much greater for someone this age. It would be sad for the kids if they lose their mom at a young age. The oldest woman to give birth was 66, I think. She died 3 years later.

I'm around that age, I think I'd be too tired to chase a toddler around again, but I wish her and her family happiness.

I think it's selfish as well.

It's pretty unfair to the kids. The one saving grace is that she had two. They will have each other. It's relatively certain that the mother will pass while these girls are just entering young adulthood. I hope she does a good job preparing them as they grow to be self-sufficient adults when they come of age and teach them to be close.

I'm not saying there should be a law against it. But I'm allowed to have an opinion.

I agree- this mom is much too old to have a baby. She's probably going to die before her kids are even fully grown, and speaking from a personal experience, it's very tragic to lose a parent when you're a kid.

Just remember that not so long ago, giving birth after 30 was looking absurd. The brides were 17 and 18 years old. Those first post-30 mothers went through being ridiculed, ("But you are going to be gray-haired 50yo when your kids are in high school! You are being irresponsible."), - paving way to your freedom to have your first child after 30.

Very true everyone is entitled to an opinion but its asinine to say she is irresponsible to have kids at this age. People can have an opinion and not be nasty about it. She chose to do it I am sure she realizes the risks.
