Hello

I live out of the area and might visit the Prescott area during the summer. It would be great to go for a swim at that time of year and I've wondered if it's ok to do so in Watson Lake or any of the other 4 lakes in the area? I've seen websites where they say it's not allowed but I've also seen pictures of people doing it? Any locals out there that can clear this up?

Thanks!

Not a definitive answer, but I think they were talking about putting in a swimming beach at the new pavillion at Watson Lake. I don't think they'd consider that if it was unsafe. Don't pee in the lake though, I think they get some of the town's drinking water from there.

Be very carefu, because there is a lake up there that is waste, forgot the name, so be careful.

Unhappy No lake swimming

There are extremely few areas where swimming is allowed in any of the Prescott Lakes. Fishing and small boats, yes, but not swimming. There are a couple of excepted beach areas, I think...maybe Lynx Lake but I'm not sure. Check with the USFD.
