I know that these theaters have quite a bunch of people that go there.
I sent a query to corporate the other day and they have not come up with either the measures to make it safe or an opening date at this time.

With AMC theaters bankruptcy looking like a reality at a $2.4 billion loss, not sure if the movie industry will make a comeback. People can watch movies on Netflix and 4K blu-ray on their 60" or larger HDTVs, also home theaters are technologically getting better. With a family of 4, tickets alone can cost over $40 not counting food.

Maybe I am naive, (or maybe just dumb) but I do not understand why movie theaters remain closed. Can't you limit the # of people entering and seat them far apart? After each show, go through the place and spray all the seats, like they are spraying in schools, restaurants, etc. Make people wear masks. Stand 6 ft. apart in line to get popcorn. You know, I love the movies and it's not the same watching it on TV.

If you're watching an intriguing movie that you're really digging, watching on the big screen trumps watching one at home. And I don't even go to that many movies at theaters. I'd still love to have that option and don't understand why we can't open theaters back up and utilize masks and social distancing.

Funny that Harkins is selling popcorn each weekend with like 5 employees. Gotta be losing money every time

I thought theaters made most of their money from selling refreshments and not the movies themselves. That's why you normally spend more at the refreshment stand than you do on the tickets. I do love theater popcorn and a Dr. Pepper.
