We are considering purchasing an existing home in Chino Valley. We like the more rural feel of the community. But we’ve heard rumors that new housing developments are planned which would impact the ‘rural’ feel. Are those rumors true? And if so, where are the new housing developments scheduled to be put in? I realize that growth is going to occur but we don’t want to buy a home with beautiful views only to have those views changed by a lot of new homes going up nearby.

Doubtful that homes would be built that would be tall enough to block the views off the hills and mountains that are visible from Chino Valley. If you ever watch one of the videos of zoning approvals online you would observe that they are very sensitive to homeowners concerns of new building projects

I will check out the videos. I home we are looking at backs up to state land. If we buy it, I don’t want to end up looking at a bunch of new home filling up that space.

The purpose of AZ State Land is to fund schools, so it CAN be sold and developed, but the near-term likelihood is pretty small given the amount of private land that can be more easily developed.
