I answered an ad for a private space on residential property not far from skull valley, off iron springs road. Is this legal? What would happen if someone reports this? Do I have a limited time as a "guest"? The woman seems to think it will be ok. I need to know for sure before leaving the rv park I'm in & giving up this space. I'm new to arizona and do not know the laws regarding rv's.

Thanks-
redheeler

Gee, I do not know for sure ..but Skull Valley seems to me anything goes but to make sure, you might want to call the county and find out first.

There is a "small" RV Park in Skull Valley. Looks like a Mom and Pop thing. I wonder if this is where the lot is.

Came down to Yuma FOR THE LAST TIME through Skull Valley today. Close on the Yuma home on 6/9, and close on the Chino Valley home on 6/12.

That park in skull valley isn't the location. Its halfway between there and kirkland. Its a residential neighborhood with 3-5 acre parcels. She said I would just be her visitor and that no one in the neighborhood would care. I have a nice 5th wheel. Its the junky stuff they don't want in there. Where on the net can I find zoning laws re. this?

It is technically illegal to live in an rv on private land in Yavapai county. If someone were to turn you in, Yavapai county would have to deal with it and ask you to leave. Unless the parcel is commercial property designated as an rv park, you are treading on thin ice. Please call Yavapai county at 928-771-3214 for further clarification.

Gotta love that place................Skull Valley! Doesn't sound like a very inviting place to live?
I bet it is pretty nice and some hermit named it to keep out the settlers?

It was so named because of a massacre where one tribe killed a bunch of another tribe in retaliation for something or other. Visit the museum there to get accurate info.

Nice community.

The poster you are responding to hasn't been here in over two years. Nice to know the story, though!

Thanks for pointing that out.

Perhaps someone else might be interested. I often read posts not directed at me.

Yavapai county only reacts to complaints by neighbors or drive by complainers. If she has good ones you will be ok. But you should do the right thing and be connected to a legal septic system. The county does allow (3 county approved ones) compost toilets and then you need a small septic for the gray water. There are so many laws on the books now the county would be overwelmed to try and enforce all of them. Most people are in violation now or have violated something at one time or another.
