What I don't get is that when these players do well at the Combine some of these players only be 1-2 years the NFL. While the other players that had not done well at the combine, especially at a 40-Yard Dash, do do well. Matter of fact, be in the NFL for about 10-16 years.
Like for example; Hines Ward, when he was injured and did not show up for the Combine he was drafted somewhere low in the draft. Now he's a 2-Time Super Bowl Champion player whi's on his way to be in th Hall Of Fame and had broke Stallworths record when Stallworth was on the Steelers.
Then you got Donte Cullpepper. The Scouts at the Combine complained about the size of his hands then he got. Then when he was on the Vikings team he became a probowl player.
Antwoin Baldwin. Scouts complained about his speed instead of well he caught/catch the ball. Now he's a probowl player who also helped his team(Arizona Cardinals) get to the Super Bowl.
Steve Smith, he gets injured and goes low in the draft, then later on he becomes one of the top elite catchers in the NFL, along with helping his team(Carolina Panthers) go to the Super Bowl.
Emmit Smith, he ran a 5 something in the 40-Yard Dash but did that not say he was going to have 3 Super Bowls along with being the top All-Time Leading Rusher in the NFL? Same goes for Jerry Rice did that not say he was going to have 4 Super Bowls and be in the NFL Hall Of Fame?
And Peyton Manning. He scored a higher on the Wonderlic Test but Rex Grossman scored higher than Manning. Did that really determined anything now since Grossman is not a good QB while Peyton Manning is/was already a Hall OF Famer along with having a Super Bowl Ring?
I say they should worry about what the player does on the field than what he(or she) does around the cones and on paper(Wonderlic Test).

The Combine is kind of stupid but it's not like there's much else going on that time of year. I say keep just so I have an excuse to talk college football in the spring.
Horrible idea. Why would you get rid of the event meant to measure the physical talent of prospective draft picks just because some teams are horrible talent evaluators?
