Is it conceivable that the Colts and Manning are in denial and he is possibly done? A Neck is nothing to play with it and the fact that he has had another surgery cannot be a good sign... What do you guys think?

Indianapolis Colts' Peyton Manning has more surgery on neck, sources say - ESPN

I think it's definitely the beginning of the end. He'll likely come back at some point this year but I don't imagine that he'll be the same player. The Colts better starting looking for a replacement or they'll head back to the cellar.

Unfortunately I have to agree! In addition to the injury and the surgeries, he's 35 years old getting ready to turn 36 so.... it's towards the end of his career I'd say. Even if the surgery goes well and he recovers fully, I don't see him playing at a high level longer than 3-4 more seasons at which point he'll be 40! Unfortunately, we all get old eventually!!

I'm sad to say I agree as well. It's a damn shame.

The Colts should starting looking for his heir regardless. Even if he comes back he's probably looking at 2-3 more seasons. Who better to be a tutor for a few seasons for some kid out of the draft? Manning seems like a smart guy. If doctors give him some bad news I don't think he'll risk his life/health for football. The guy is money. He can easily land a tv or maybe a coaching gig.

Totally scarey stuff and not worth the risk. He had the surgery rather late they were saying today, but I don't think that point matters. He is a class act, very smart guy, he cancould contribute a great deal to a team, coach or something.

I'm a Colts fan, and I agree 100%. We need to be thinking QB in this next draft.

I can't help but to think not only is this the end for Manning, but probably for the Colts for a while. Pretty much the entire organization was built around a once in a life time player. They aren't getting another Manning.
