Is it me or it the NBA dominating the headlines? Usually we are ramping up the NFL preseason next month... but it's been the NBA draft, NBA free agency, LeBron... oh Manziel took another selfie... NBA free agency, summer leagues...

Weird summer... wonder if the NFL is concerned about that at all. Or maybe it's just me.

I don't think they are concerned about it. Once OTAs/mini camps are over and players take their break before camp starts, not much going on at all. Good example all the filler shows on NFL Network!

It's July. Why would the NFL be concerned?

If any sport should look around and see concern, its MLB. Their season is going on now, and they are somewhere around 4th on the sports news totem pole right now.

Right now, at least in Cleveland, with all of the fuss about where Lebron is going, I'd say the NBA. The Johnny Manziel hype has seemed to die down just a bit, which I'm sure will change once training camp starts. The Indians are hanging around, but they haven't made any noise as of yet.

True... but many people already think baseball is boring, so that doesn't surprise me.

Just seems like in the past, there was much more football talk and anticipation of the coming season. I'm not complaining - it just seems different that NBA talk is dominating a month over the season ended.

I actually don't mind the lack of football related articles at this stage. It just intensifies my longing for the upcoming season. Being a big baseball fan as well, I tend to wait until after the All-Star break to really catch up on what's going on around the NFL. As far as the NBA goes, this is just media fueled drama. All of the big markets (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago) have expressed interest in one or more of the Big Three and Carmelo Anthony. Once they have all selected their homes, I would expect all things NBA to cease shortly thereafter.

I am sure the NFL is aware but its still off season and lets be honest, LeBron's Free Agency would probably trump any NFL news even if it were week 8 of the NFL season.

In two weeks, we'll be saying, "NBA who?"

You can thank ESPN for that fact. ESPN loves to shove the NBA at us because they shelled out a good amount of money to broadcast the sport.
