First off, I'm a Browns fan so in no way is this whining about the Cardinals-Packers game as I really didn't care who won. This proposal will eliminate any luck that goes along with a coin flip. At the beginning of overtime the officials give both head coaches a pen and a note card. The coaches both write on the card what yard line they are willing to let the other team kickoff from in order to receive the ball. The coach that puts the yardline closest to the endline his team defends will receive the ball. The team having to kickoff decides which direction they kickoff. The home team coach can only put down an even yardline on the card and the away coach can only put an odd yardline so the same number will never be on both cards.
The coin toss is fine. The OT problem is it should be timed only like another quarter, not some first score wins BS.
