In a Sports Illustrated report, the NFL plans to move a team to Los Angeles in either 2015 or '16. The front runners:
- Chargers
- Raiders
- Rams
All of which have been in L.A., as many people have always speculated. From the article...
Quote:
The Rams can leave St. Louis without penalty after each season, the Raiders' stadium lease is up after this year and the Chargers could leave via a relocation fee that decreases each year
I think the Rams and Chargers are the two most likely teams to move back to LA. The Raiders just played San Antonio to get Oakland to buckle on concessions for a replacement for the Coliseum.

The Chargers, Raiders and Rams all want new stadium deals in San Diego, Oakland and St. Louis, respectively, and by God they're going to get them by playing the "Don't make me move to Los Angeles!" card.

And people fall for it every time...
Uh...yeah, I already addressed this.
The thing is, L.A. has been a real possibility for YEARS. The Houston Texans are supposed to be in L.A. right now, but there were no owners and no stadium deal. There are now THREE legit stadium proposals so no, I wouldn't call this one a bluff. Goodell and the NFL has been hell bent on trying to get a team back in the 2nd largest market for years now.
The Raiders to San Antonio was more of a bluff than this.
If I had to choose, I would much rather see an existing California team stay in California. Is it really necessary to have a fourth team there? I think that's a bit much.
