Does anyone else think it would be a better game if they played Flag Football? I have it on, only because there are so many players from my local team, the Ravens. First time I have bothered to watch it for a long time. I remember now why I haven't bothered.

It's discussed every year but no changes are made.

It's a glorified scrimmage. In terms of interest as a fan I'd rank the Pro Bowl below pre-season and training camp. This will never change.

I don't think there is any way to make the Pro Bowl "better". It is what it is.

Give them a check for being named as All-Pros and move on with life. Only the TV networks would miss it.

Maybe they can just hold the results and make a dramatic TV show announcing who the All-Pros are and show highlights from the season.

There's nothing to be done to make the Pro Bowl better.

Fact:
NFL players have gotten bigger.

Fact:
NFL players have gotten faster.

Result:
There's a lot more kinetic energy imparted when two NFL players come together today.

All the equipment technology in the world cannot mitigate the physics involved. Combine that with the financial reality of the modern NFL - where every Pro Bowl-caliber player is worth tens of millions in revenue over the remaining years of his career - and there is simply no way that the Pro Bowl is every going to resemble an NFL game.

It's as obsolete as the drop kick (no offense, Doug Flutie).

WELL, I enjoyed it As Always

And would have more except that the Kobe Bryant tragedy really put a damper on everyone's fun.

But the rest of the game,I enjoy.
I had said that we might drive over to Orlando and watch it in person, but we did not. THing is, I am a busy cat and with family, work, school events....no time

SO if they do it in Orlando next year, I will make an effort. But part of it was that if you wanted to to get into any of the events where the players were signing autographs or meeting fans, you had to have a special ticket ($500 and up) or be part of some inner circle of sponsors (like on the board of directors for the Nationwide Farmers auto insurance group) So my complaint would not be wit the game, but with the exclusivity that Father Goodell has allowed with making the event Inaccessible to the fans. And it is supposed to be ABOUT the fans. Or at least in 3 other major sports it is.

My other complaint was that no one who plays for MY FINZ was invited. Noe in other sports, each team gets at least one representative. Even the last place team. Which by the way, was the STRIPEY CATS and they sent a player. So again, Father Goodell did not oversee any fairness to what few FINZ FANZ of us that have not walked away and are left would want.

That being said, I enjoyed the game. I do not want to see people getting hurt in any NFL game (As much as I hate injuries, they happen) I was glad that for the most part, they were not trying. I watched an old Pro Bowl from the late 70s on the Interwebs a few days ago. They were blocking, they were tackling but they ALWAYS picked the guy up after they tackled him. Yesterday, little tackling, and lots of hugging and two-below touches on the waste "Hey I touched you you are down" Few penalties, no replays, and some nice passing exhibitions I set aside the afternoon to watch it, would like to have gone, maybe next time.

The NBA all star game is next up on the 16th of next month. They have a slightly different format. The NFL tried a similar format a few years back by Having some former stars to pick players and go head to head, that did not generate as much interest, in fact, it belly flopped into the Hawaiian Ocean..... having a conference tie in, of Rivals suddenly playing together, is much more interesting

I liked this years Uniforms. I was tempted to order a jersey and had I not been on a strict budget and had any FINZ been there I might have.

All Star Games are supposed to be for the fans. No fan wants to see his or her favorite player hurt in an All Star Game. What they want to see is an exhibition of passes, runs, long field goals and of course, handshakes and photo ops. For those of us who sat at home, curled up on a couch with a strawberry Rum drink, the game was still entertaining and yet a sad reminder that football season is almost over.

The event is more for the players themselves. It's basically a weekend long congratulations party where they unwind after a long season & chum up with other all-stars around the league. The game itself is fine. I kind of like like seeing the players & different coaches interacting & having fun.

They serve a food buffet at half-time & players were downing large pieces of chicken. How serious do they expect the players to be?

It's also for the young fans to come out & see the players in person in a laid back atmosphere.

They can keep holding it for the people who want to watch. Me, I haven't watched it in maybe 15 years. You'll see harder hits at a Pop Warner football game.
