For those of you who can't get the game you should be very thankful. If the o line doesn't get significantly better in the next two weeks it is going to be one hell of a long season. And I can only hope the pass rush was taking it easy tonight.
On the bright side Jarvis Jones looks really good.
With Le'Veon Bell sidelined by a mid-foot sprain, the Steelers added depth to their backfield via a rare player for player trade.
The Steelers acquired Felix Jones on Friday morning from the Eagles, shipping outside linebacker Adrian Robinson to Philadelphia for the veteran running back.
Jones, a first-round pick by Dallas in 2008, played five seasons for the Cowboys before signing with the Eagles in the offseason. The 5-10, 215-pounder rushed for 2,728 yards and 11 touchdowns from 2008-12 but never quite lived up to expectations in the Dallas.
With Bell out for at least the first part of the regular season Jones joins a rotation that includes Isaac Redman, Jonathan Dwyer and Baron Batch. Dwyer led the Steelers in rushing last season with 623 yards but neither he nor Redman emerged as a feature back. That was a major reason why the Steelers took Bell in the second round of the 2013 NFL draft and were giving him every opportunity to win the starting job.
Steelers rookie linebacker Jarvis Jones was taken to the hospital with a chest injury after being tackled following an interception in the fourth quarter of Pittsburgh's 26-20 overtime loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Jones' interception was negated by a penalty.
The 17th overall pick in the draft lay on the turf for several moments before walking to the sideline. He sat on the bench talking to quarterback Ben Roethlisberger before being placed on a stretcher and taken out of the stadium as a precaution.
Just some (rhetorical) questions I have after watching today's fiasco against Tennessee...
Who does David DeCastro play for? And, what did he think he was doing when he blatantly intended to chop block another player, regardless of who they play for?
Why isn't Jarvis Jones starting in place of Jason Worilds?
Why run the ball when the Offensive line, and the running backs, cannot dominate their assignments?
As every team in our division (even Cleveland) has gotten better through off-season acquisitions, and the draft, when will the Steelers pay for a high-quality free agent to replace the many players we refuse to pay?
Why is it that we have been given the injury curse (Mendenhall, DeCastro, Pouncey, Le' Veon Bell, Sean Spence)? Every player we have that shows a flash of brilliance eventually suffers long-term or persistent injuries.
