It's been a LONG time since I've felt such great pride to be a Redskins fan until tonight, watching Art Monk walk on stage.
It was absolutely breath taking watching Art monk just stand there and get a 4 minute standing ovation. What a classy guy, what a classy speech, congratulations to Art Monk for finally getting in the Hall of Fame.
The same goes to Darrell Green, another classy Redskin from a great Redskin era. Watching those guys and Coach Gibbs almost brought tears to my eyes.
I'm a lifelong Browns fan, but I consider Art Monk and Darrell Green to be two of the most talented and professional players I've ever had the pleasure to watch.
Both of their speech's were great and I wish you guys all the luck in tomorrow's game versus the Colts. Great weekend to be a 'Skins fan I'm sure.
Thank you Doug! I was very proud watching that last night, took me back to my childhood watching the 'Skins with those guys and young Coach Gibbs on the sidelines. I hope you're having a good weekend as well, cheers!!
I remember watching the NFL channel just before the super bowl and the announcers were talking about the selections. I would have figured Derrick Thomas and Chis Carter would have been a cinch for the first ballot. With the exception of Darrel Green, all of the others had been retired 10 seasons or more. And ALL of them should have been in the HOF years ago. I believe the selection panel had that in mind when the picks were made during super bowl week.
