Wilson had tremendous leverage. He only had one year left on his contract and had just gone to consecutive Super Bowls. Other teams probably would've paid him just as much, so they probably had to give him such a large contract or risk losing him entirely.

So, yeah, they overpaid for him, but they sort of had to, and now they can't pay for a decent OL. We'll see what happens with Lynch, but once his contract is off the books they should have more flexibility.

Lynch is paid $4.5 million a year and is 29...on the edge of a running backs life. Rawls is 22 and Lynch's era apparent is paid $435K a year and if Seattle needs to make room with the salary cap, you are right about him being expendable. I would hate to see either go but that life in the NFL.

Actually Seattle offense line seem to have started to come together but still lack depth as three offensive line men went down against the Santa Clara 49ers yesterday, don't know their injure extent, but depth is their problem right now.

Yeah, the $7.5 mil signing bonus was sort of a retro-raise because he was underpaid (relative to the market) for a couple years.

I wouldn't read much into the OL's performance against the 49ers. They had a few decent moments against the Cards, but there were also a few plays were Wilson had almost no protection. For the most part they've been awful this season.

Great win for Seattle last night. Despite Big Ben passing over 450 yards he only had one TD pass and 2 picks (4 picks overall)...amazing. While Wilson had 5 TD passes and no picks. Rawls had more rushing yardage (81) by himself then the whole Steelers teams (58). When Pittsburgh got the lead back in the 4th quarter my heart sunk and l thought here we go again....Kam pick with the game on the line was a big play that really put the game out of reach.

Great game and now on to Minnesota.

Heck yeah, that was a great win yesterday. We completely stopped Adrian and shut them down in every other aspect. If it wasn't for their kickoff return, they would have had a big goose egg.
We have three easy games coming up, then Arizona for the final game. I smell playoffs, no home field advantage, but playoff none the less. GO HAWKS!

I agree with you 100%....Seattle will make the playoff. The win over the Vikings and holding AP to 18 yards is nothing more than a preview of things to come.

Yep, they are making a move, team I've had my eye on knowing what they can do! Interesting about the Vikings, and being close by I get all the AP hype, Packers shut him down a couple of weeks ago, he is their offense. December is always interesting, this year will be do different!

We could be the dark-horse this season. Winning 3 road playoffs games won't be easy, but the Giants have shown it can be done. It's unlikely, but doable.

How crazy is it that Seattle can still get a 1st round bye.

Their schedule is not terrible at all down the stretch....

Only the top two teams in each Conference get a bye and right now that is the Panthers and Cardinals and is almost certain to stay that way in the NFC.
Cincinnati and Denver in the AFC with New England being third because of their lost to the Broncos. However it is too early to call who will be the top two in the AFC.

Seattle can't get a first round bye......They would first have to win the NFC West title which they won't. Or at least that would be a long shot as Arizona only has to win one game out of the last three or Seattle lose one game and be to eliminated from the NFC West title. Remember Arizona beat Seattle on the road so the Cards hold another advantage in a tie breaker situation as well.
But I must point out that Minnesota still has a shot of winning the NFC North (IMO a long shot) which would place Green Bay into the wild card picture ahead of Seattle and if that happened Seattle would most likely have to play the Vikings on the road again.

Seattle almost has a lock on the top wild card if they win in Baltimore this Sunday and will have to play on the road in likely the winner of the NFC East as it stands right now. If Seattle and the Vikings tie with the same record Seattle would take the top wild card because they beat Minnesota but if Seattle and Green Bay tied the Packers would take the top spot..... because...you guessed it the Packers beat Seattle.

Complicated enough? Each week the playoff scenario become clearer.
