Tippmann A-5 Sniper Paintball gun

Rating: 3 out of 5
  • Currently 3.0/5.0

I bought the Tippmann A-5 sniper paintball gun because I wanted a sniper gun for my weekend paintball games. I looked at a lot of different guns and talked to a lot of people and everyone seemed to agree that the Tippmann was the best one and while I agree the gun is well made, I do not believe it is worth the $500 I spent. This does not mean that I think the Tippmann is a bad gun, but I know that there are quite a few guns that sell for cheaper that do just as well.

The Good:

The first thing I noticed when I got the Tippman was that it was very well balanced and fit in my hand very nicely. Also it is light while still shooting with enough power to act as a sniper gun and is very accurate. Overall I found the Tippmann to be a great paintball gun to use and never felt outgunned on the field.

The Bad:

There are two problems that I had with the Tippmann. The first I already mentioned and that was the cost. While I believe there are many guns worth $500, I do not think the Timpmann belongs in that category. In my experience, there are several guns that perform just as well the Tippmann that come at half the price.

In the end, I believe that the Tippmann is a fine gun. It shoots well and feels good in the hands. However, at the end of the day I can't help but think I should have spent half the money and gotten a gun that performed just as well while being much more affordable. If you are looking into buying a Tippmann, look at the other guns first, your wallet might appreciate it.
