This is my fourth Mr. Coffee Espresso Machine. I've had them for about ten years. This model is their newer one, I previously had the model they'd had on the market for several years. I think they came out with this one about three years ago.
I use my espresso machine several times a day, so I do tend to go through them. I've never had one break down on me, though. I replaced my last one because the knob to turn it on broke off. The others I replaced only because I broke the carafes and it just seemed easier to get a new machine than to find a new carafe. Considering the amount of usage my espresso machines get, I think they have held up extremely well, especially given the affordable price.
I do really like this new model. It has a sleeker look than the old one, more modern.
There are a couple of things I don't really like. The profile is higher, so I have to pull it out from under the cabinet in order to fill the water resevoir. Also, the cap on the resevoir is a little difficult to remove because of the bulky shape. I preferred the older cap design. Also, the grate the carafe sits on is now silvertone, rather than black, so it shows spatters and spills a lot more than the black one did.
However, this model seems to brew faster than the previous model, which I love. It's also easier to clean. The grate over the drainage area is simple to remove and rinse out, and the milk steamer is also easier to remove. That's a great improvement.
I use the machine so frequently that I appreciate the easier cleaning.
All in all, considering the very affordable price, this is a really good machine.
