HP LaserJet 1022

Rating: 3 out of 5
  • Currently 3.0/5.0

I have an HP LaserJet 1022 printer for use at work. Our school recently replaced all our printers with 1022's. I have been using the Laser Jet 1022 for the past two years. It is extremely lightweight and easy to use. I use a MacBook at work and the 1022 is compatible for a PC as well. The print quality is quite good, and the 1022 is the fastest basic printer I have ever used. It is not uncommon for me to use it almost like a copy machine. With other printers I've owned, it was standard practice to make just one copy of a given assignment and take it to the office copy machine for the 60 to 100 copies I needed. With the 1022, I don't hesitate to print all 60 plus copies straight from the computer. It is the speed and print quality that make this possible. It is also small and fits nicely in even a small workstation. The 1022 has also proven to be one of the more sturdy printers I've had. However, the 1022 can be somewhat difficult to load. It also is the loudest printer I have ever used. The noise can be quite a distraction to a classroom or a small, shared office space. Occasionally, I will also experience some trouble when I try to complete multiple jobs. This could be a problem associated with my computer as well, but it's not something I've experienced with other printers. The first job always kicks in immediately, but lately when I try to do a second job soon after the first, it takes the printer some time to start again. The final drawback is the price of the toner refills. They are quite large and pricey. The HP LaserJet 1022 printer is a decent, no-frills printer for small, personal, space-challenged use.
