It seems that every time a new media is introduced in society it seems to cause a moral panic and that it harms children, adults, and bring about the end of civilization itself. We had novels in the 19th century, movies in the early 20th century, comic books in the 1950s, television in the second half of the 20th century, Rock and Roll of the 60s, Dungeons and Dragons in the 80s, Internet and Video games of the 1990s and 2000s. Why is it that each new media application seems to cause some kind of moral panic? Why is that? What is the cause of this?
