Asking you to ignore the problem and run from these people doesn't solve the issue. Psychotherapy will help in a huge way. Forget Psychologists, CBT, DBT etc. It is classic Oedipus Complex, but even Freud was flawed. I highly recommend the works of James Hollis. His books explain your troubles in great detail and will help you understand/defeat the the problem. I'm currently working with a young man who insists that apart from birth his mother 'Is just a women who he's fallen in love with'. Very unsettling indeed, but, ultimately he will be treated and fingers crossed will get over this fascination.
PS - I would suggest his mother also has a huge PD issue. Personality disorders sadly seem to last a lifetime. You will never win a debate/argument with someone who has severe BPD (not to be confused with Bipolar disorder). I sincerely hope you manage to resole the issue.
