Some I know of have found great help with groups like Co Dependents Anon. Some didn't grow up in a functional household where litttle to any boundaries were taught.

Okay, so I've been setting boundaries and BOY OH BOY!!!!!! How difficult! Many have met me with resistance and/or tried to make me feel guilty. I'm sticking to my guns yet now I'm depressed. Before I was angry.
I do realize I'm partly to blame because I let people get away with treating me like a doormat for so long that now, of course, they're mad; I'm changing the rules.

I empathize I do. It might help to promote your newer, healthier you. Maybe then when they go to criticize the new you they will realize they aren't supporting your positive growth.

Stick with it and the pain will eventually pass and you'll be stronger. Think of it like physical exercise. No pain, no gain.
