That's the attitude the caused a lot of women to become repressed sexually, and is ridiculous. "Acknowledge your sex drive and do nothing with it!!!!", all the while men can.
Well if a female has to go on maury show they have to test 10 + guys to find out how the dad and not one of then is the dad she is a **** sorry.
If a woman goes on maury show and she does not know who the dad is and its between two guys she not a **** .
I am not saying woman cant sleep around but if it to the point she cant keep track of the men she has sex with and gets knock up it does not make her look good if she is like well it can be one of 5 guys .

There's a lot of room before it gets to that point...

But I question whether it succeeds. The gist is that women indeed crave and desire sex as much as men, but they're deterred from expressing these feelings for fear of being labeled sluts. It also argues that traditional mating roles factor into the question (men are the aggressors, etc.)
But isn't this a tad simplistic? We're living in an increasingly liberal society where many women have no qualms about leading in the bedroom. Not sure which women the author has met, but many of the ones I know talk liberally about their sex lives and admit they like to be in charge in the intimacy department.
What do you think?
I think that although society has become more liberal in some ways, ****-shaming is a alive and well and deters many women from being more open about their desires. I would add that in general, dating and sex are just riskier for women, too. Women run a greater risk of rape, of physical abuse, even of catching many STDs. It is no wonder women are a bit more careful than men in the sexual arena.
Desire? in my experience yes, women I've dated have desired sex as much as I have. I've not met a woman who could keep up with me, but the last time I was active was over 3 years ago, so who knows now.
